Testimonials
The work of selling “Object Lessons” is to accomplish double and triple good in different lines. Those who purchase the book feel that they are doing something to advance a worthy cause. The work is done with an earnestness that appeals to their hearts. It is a lesson to them, and although they are not of our faith, they appreciate the effort that is being made. They are impressed with the earnestness of the workers. They realize that what they are doing is commended by the Lord, who blesses every good work. Light shines into their hearts. To many, the conviction of the Spirit will come through the seed sown by this unselfish work for the Master. The saving of precious souls will be the result of the work done in canvassing for “Object Lessons.”

I don't know where to start. I am a private person and I don't like the idea of knocking on doors, but I felt like God was asking me to go out with my two young children. Since I live near Lareda, we went together. Lareda impressed on my children the importance of prayer right from the start. We decided to start in our neighborhood. As we went door to door, we were well received. People were gracious. A few gave us donations, a few asked us to return when they would have money, and finally an older gentleman wanted to buy the book. He said he is often out of state, but 'happened' to be home that week. He told us that he had heard good things about the Seventh-day Adventist church, that his grandfather had read through the Bible and had begun attending the Seventh-day Adventist church before he died 'because it was the only church that taught what the Bible said.' Of course we invited him to visit our church anytime. We left knowing that we had just had a divine appointment.
"We have only gone out four times, about an hour and a half each time. We have sold 9 or 10 books, had several donations, and have given away one book because we had donations to cover it. We also take with us Signs of the Times that are leftover from our church's Signs Boxes, and we take leftover Our Little Friends and Primary Treasures so we can offer them as gifts to people we talk to. We have some tracts we tuck in doors if no one is home. The kids help us look for clues about whether a child lives in the house, and if so, we leave a magazine for them in the door too.
"Another mom and her daughter have come with us once and want to go again. Two other moms and their kids are planning to go in the near future. Two adults from our church have heard about the blessings of canvassing COL and have asked to come with us sometime. I cannot emphasize enough what a blessing this ministry is. I urge you to do it. My kids are more instant in prayer in everything! My son reminds me to pray as we approach houses, my daughter begs to go out for longer, they both pray for our neighbors now. We are raising money for ASAP Ministries. Each of my kids chose a project from the online gift catalog and we tell people that is what we are fund raising for with the sale of the book. I promise you will be blessed, your family will be blessed and your community will be blessed. And there is no way that you can possibly be more scared to go door to door than I am! So GO!"
